Well, we hoped that today would have brought a little clearer sky to the city. As of Monday afternoon, Vancouver has retaken the top spot for the worst air quality in the world. The ranking comes from the Swiss-based website IQAir, which ranks cities globally in real-time.
But, the reading itself comes from Environment Canada. Right now, smoke blowing up from wildfires in Washington, Oregon, and even California has landed in the region, severely impacting the air. And so, the Metro Vancouver region is facing a 10+ air quality reading, translating to ‘very high risk’.
